FAUQUIER COUNTY, VA – A Maryland man was killed on Friday after his car collided head-on with another vehicle, CBS 19 News reports.
The man was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler north on Winchester Road at about 6:50 p.m. The vehicle swerved over the center line and crashed head-on into a 2017 Dodge Ram.
The wreck happened north of I-66.
The Jeep’s driver, a 43-year-old from Maryland, was killed at the site of the accident.
The Dodge driver was transported to a hospital via airlift. He is reportedly in stable condition.
Investigators report that excessive speed was one of the causes of the accident. Virginia State Police are handling the investigation.
