ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – A motorcycle versus car crash on Route 4 in Anne Arundel County claimed a police sergeant’s life Saturday.
The collision occurred before 10 pm, according to The Washington Post. The police officer was operating a motorcycle when a 2019 Honda Accord made a turn coming from Talbot Road. As a result, the officer slammed into the Honda.
The police sergeant was identified as Det. Sgt. Lance Andriani, 53, of Chesapeake Beach. He was off-duty at the time of the crash.
Andriani was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
It is unclear if the driver of the Honda was injured or what charges await them.
The crash is under investigation by Anne Arundel County police.
