Tenga cuidado con las bolsas de aire defectuosos: su seguridad está en riesgo

Quiero llamar su atención sobre un problema de seguridad crítico que podría ponerlo a usted y a sus seres queridos en grave riesgo. Nissan ha emitido una grave advertencia instando a los propietarios de casi 84.000 modelos de automóviles más antiguos a no conducir sus vehículos debido al riesgo de que exploten los infladores de las bolsas de aire. Este retiro urgente afecta a ciertos vehículos Nissan equipados con bolsas de aire Takata no reparadas.

El peligro

La Administración Nacional de Seguridad del Transporte por Carreteras (NHTSA) ha destacado la gravedad de este problema. Debido a la antigüedad de los vehículos equipados con infladores de bolsas de aire Takata defectuosos, existe un mayor riesgo de que el inflador explote durante el despliegue de la bolsa de aire. Cuando estos infladores explotan, pueden propulsar fragmentos metálicos afilados, provocando lesiones graves o incluso la muerte. Este no es un riesgo hipotético: al menos 27 personas han muerto en Estados Unidos a causa de bolsas de aire Takata defectuosas y otras 400 han resultado heridas.

 

Vehículos afectados

La advertencia “no conducir” afecta a los siguientes modelos:

  • Automóviles Nissan Sentra del 2002 al 2006
  • SUV Pathfinder 2002 a 2004
  • SUV Infiniti QX4 2002 y 2003

Si posee uno de estos vehículos, debe dejar de conducirlo inmediatamente. Incluso un choque menor puede desencadenar la explosión de una bolsa de aire, lo que resulta en lesiones que alteran la vida o la muerte.

Lo que debes hacer

  1. Revise su vehículo : determine si su vehículo tiene un retiro de bolsas de aire Takata abierto. Puede hacerlo visitando la página de retirada de Nissan o el sitio web de la NHTSA.
  2. Programe una reparación : si su vehículo se ve afectado, programe una reparación gratuita lo antes posible. No se demore. Nissan ofrece reparaciones gratuitas para garantizar tu seguridad.
  3. No conducir : siga la advertencia “no conducir”. Evite utilizar el vehículo hasta que se haya completado la reparación.

El peligro que suponen estos bolsas de aire defectuosos es real. Como ha señalado la NHTSA, los vehículos de modelos más antiguos corren un mayor riesgo porque la antigüedad de la bolsa contribuye a la probabilidad de que explote. Se trata de un problema grave que exige atención inmediata.
